Virtual Medical Assistant

US medical doctors need trained healthcare professionals to perform essential back-office tasks. You will work closely with your client doctor, their patients, and on-site clinic staff. You need to have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations while providing exceptional customer service. A regular workday includes patient scheduling, prescription refills, insurance verification, medical billing, and maintaining patient medical records.

This is a full-time night-shift job. With the ongoing pandemic, work-from-home setups are allowed. You will receive full support from our IT Department and your assigned Account Supervisor.

Virtual Medical Assistant – Associate

As a VMA Associate, you will support US-based doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in their clinical practice. You will also provide various frontline patient services and/or back-office tasks while providing administrative support to the client’s operations when needed.

You will be working closely with your client doctor, their patients, and their on-site clinic staff. A regular workday could include patient scheduling, prescription refills, insurance verification, medical billing, and maintaining patient medical records.

This is a full-time night-shift job, and you will receive full support from our IT Department and your assigned Account Supervisor. Your other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensure precise and confidential management of patient records.
  • Assist in scheduling and confirming appointments, surgeries, and procedures with efficiency.
  • Act as a key communicator between patients, their families, and medical staff, ensuring seamless coordination.
  • Handle prescription orders, ensuring timely processing and delivery to patients.
  • Provide essential administrative support, including managing correspondence, billing, and verifying insurance information.
  • Facilitate telehealth sessions, enhancing communication between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Stay current with medical terminology, healthcare practices, and industry standards to ensure top-notch service.


What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Graduate of BS in Nursing or other Allied Health course (Registered or Underboard).
  • Extensive experience in the BPO setting (healthcare account) and hospital/clinical setup is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in English communication (both written and spoken).
  • Willing and able to work fixed night shifts

As a Workforce Liaison Officer, you organize the existing VMA workforce and fill the gaps caused by natural workforce changes such as promotion and resignation as well as client demand. You supervise the existing workforce who are yet to be client profiled. You also provide coaching and training where needed, supporting your staff’s individual capabilities and their professional growth.

Responsibilities: 

Workforce Allocation:

  • Collaborate with concerned departments, especially Talent Acquisition and Sales, for allocating suitable VMAs according to client needs
  • Update the workforce allocation tool regularly
  • Provide requested reports to management and initiate the reporting process with special focus on topics such as workforce allocation and incident flagging

Workforce Management:

  • Provide fair evaluations on staff as per request by the human resource management
  • Monitor team member’s performance and provide disciplinary sanctions as guided by the company handbook, or escalate and provide recommendations to the human resource department
  • Monitor attendance, absences, tardiness, application for leaves, and submit required documentations regularly or as needed 

Training:

  • Provide support to staff members through mentoring, coaching, and training
  • Collaborate with Learning & Training Department and Operations Department for forecasted VMA needs
