Where it all started…

Up-Hill
A poem by Christina Rossetti

Does the road wind up-hill all the way?
Yes, to the very end.
Will the day’s journey take the whole long day?
From morn to night, my friend.

But is there for the night a resting-place?
A roof for when the slow dark hours begin.
May not the darkness hide it from my face?
You cannot miss that inn.

Shall I meet other wayfarers at night?
Those who have gone before.
Then must I knock, or call when just in sight?
They will not keep you standing at that door.

Shall I find comfort, travel-sore, and weak?
Of labour you shall find the sum.
Will there be beds for me and all who seek?
Yea, beds for all who come.

Doubts and uncertainties are necessary evils that plague founders of companies and businesses. Without them, the seed of growth cannot be planted. Doubt pushes one to seek fresh perspectives and uncertainty makes one take action to see faster results.

10 years ago, with a literal apartment-sized office and five employees, Xilium opened for business. It had great potential as a startup company as its launch coincided with the beginning of the Business Process Outsourcing era in the City of Love. Potential that grew and grew thanks to the endless patience, hard work, and determination of the company’s core employees.

10 years ago, a dream was manifested. A second home was built for weary travelers seeking to find comfort, even against the skinny bole of a tree. This very same tree grew and grew until it could provide shelter for many more. “Will there be beds for me and for all who seek?” / “Yea, beds for all who come.”
