UPV Students XPS Internship
Internship programs serve as learning opportunities for students to gain relevant knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experience in the field that they are aiming to pursue professionally. This month, Xilium opened its doors to fifteen marketing students of the University of the Philippines Visayas to be interns of the company for six weeks. The interns were assigned to three departments: the Branding Team, International Marketing, and Recruitment Department under the supervision of Mr. Kenn Bryan Lipura, Ms. Juvy Magbanua-Clemeña, and Mr. Allan James Andrada, respectively.
Their virtual internship with Xilium is designed to offer the students a comprehensive learning experience. They will be given the chance to apply the lessons that they have learned in the classroom to real-life situations. The students would not be doing any menial and stereotypical task of an intern like answering phone calls, photocopying, or getting coffee. Instead, they are provided with opportunities to go out of their comfort zones and participate in team meetings, craft marketing strategies, and perform market analysis that will enhance their marketing skills.
Xilium is an environment where personal growth is best cultivated. With the internship program, the company inculcates its practices where they provide an effective learning environment to the fifteen student interns. Other than letting the students experience what it is like to be actual employees of the company, they are also guided and mentored throughout their stay in the company.
